It has been one long trip but we are finally glad to announce that it’s done. We managed to pull it off just in time for the start of the 2013 Gumball 3000. After a lot of sleepless nights, across three continents, we have the honor of introducing the Galag TG1

Based on a Nissan GT-R platform, the Galag TG1 produces a little over 750 bhp and 700lbft of torque. The engine was tuned by Litchfield to reach a top speed of 340km/h with a 0-100km/h sprint in only 2.68 seconds and 0-160km/h in 5.68 seconds. With our revised, custom made, full carbon fiber body design by Team Galag and Parker Brother Concepts, we have managed to reduce the weight to a mere 1630kg. Featuring High Intensity Discharge headlight and 21″ custom wheels made by ADV.1, this one of a kind creation will definitely turn heads where it goes.

Who’s Driving What In The 2013 Gumball 3000

On May 18^th, the Gumball 3000 rally rolls out of Copenhagen to begin its 15^th anniversary run of the craziest high-octane car event on the planet. You’ll see anything from a 67 Shelby GT 500 to a Rolls Royce Phantom, the drivers as eccentric and mental as cantankerous British aristocrats.

The grid consists of rich family combinations, successful entrepreneurs showing off their latest toys, playboys with slick hair and even slicker rides, professional athletes, actors and musicians, people who live for excessive speed and riotous parting.

Pro skaters Tony Hawk and Jaws join BMX pro Rooftop Escamilla for another dose of Gumball mayhem, this year driving a customised Alpine Edition Twisted Defender. Adding to the Gumball spirit, the skate legend himself is hosting a half pipe demo in Warsaw.

Gumball royalty Maximillion Cooper and rap superstar EVE are taking their stunning Morgan Aero Super Sport out for a blast. Gumball boss, Maximillion has previously entered the rally in an XJ220 – the man clearly has taste!

Gumball hero, David (The Hoff) Hasselhoff is all set for his 4^th rally, the ultimate crowd pleaser never failing to entertain. This year, The Hoff will be storming Europe in his black Audi R8. Look out for Team HoffBallers to guarantee Gumball hooning.

Rap and TV star Xzibit also returns to the Gumball 3000. The Pimp My Ride star will be taking on Europe for the third time, but as yet his new ride is TBC. One of his memorable cars was the black and gold “Adidas” Lamborghini Gallado.

Those lunatic Finnish chaps are back once again, aiming to win their 2nd “Spirit Of Gumball” award. TV idiots, The Dudesons are no strangers to Gumball, their previous transportation consisting of a Cadillac Escalade ambulance, a Baywatch-themed pickup truck, and if rumours are to be believed, a blue furry elephant concept should make it onto the grid this time around.

Best Of The Rest

It looks like Batman has decided to give the Gumball a bash as Team Galag have developed possibly the most ambitious Gumball car ever to hit the grid – the Batman Tumbler movie car. This incredible creation is to be unveiled exclusively in Copenhagen.

Betsafe’s master of everything Betsafe and Gumball, Carl Bofeldt is on his second Gumball 3000 Rally. Founder of Visual Arts Sweden, Johan Sjostedt will be joining him, their outrageous 997 Gen II Porsche Turbo RS their weapon of choice.

Alpine daredevil Jens Byggmark joins his friend Fredrik Strebel, representing Team Betsafe in his awesome black supercharged Camaro.

I had to add this rare beauty, the Stirling Moss McLaren SLR entered by Netherland’s Stirling Moss Team. They call this silver bullet “The Flying Dutchman”.

We can’t wait to see the start of this rally, when all the teams roll out, one by one, to endure the week of carnage and lunacy that awaits them. One car I will be looking out for is that magnificent Tumbler – how they made it street legal is beyond me.

TG1: Is 750 Enough?

A little more info on us and our one off concept super car, the TG1.

We are two-year veterans of the internationally renowned rally, Gumball 3000, where 120 car fanatics take to the road on a set route of 3000 miles. This year will be a special one for us. This year we’ve decided to design and build our own car with the help of SyFy Channel’s Parker Brothers Concepts. The car we’re building is the TG1 (Team Galag 1).

The TG1 is a bespoke build, that incorporates the vision for the design that we have been working on for quite a while, coupled with input provided by some of the Automotive industry’s most renowned consultants to get to where we are today.

The TG1 power will be coming from a 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged 24-valve V6 engine that has been tuned by performance experts to produce 750 bhp with a top speed of 200 mph. The numbers have not been tested on the dyno as of yet (but will be confirmed on launch day), we are expecting to time a 0-60mph in 2.68 seconds and a 0-100mph time in 5.65 seconds.

The TG1 will be accompanied by a second custom built vehicle, Our own version of the Dark Knight’s Tumbler.

We wish to keep information to a minimum until the official launch of both cars in Copenhagen, Denmark prior to the May 18th start of the 15^th Anniversary Gumball 3000.

We also donate to local Saudi Charities an amount that reflects the amount of miles that we complete (per car) on the Gumball. On top of that, we match any speeding tickets that we accumulate along the way.

The 2013 15th Anniversary Rally will take to the road in May this year with 100 of the world’s most beautiful Supercars to celebrate this milestone.

The route has the style and sophistication of Scandinavia, an Eastern European edge of romance and adventure and ends with the jet-set glamour of Monte Carlo. Starting in Copenhagen on Sunday 19th May, the route incorporates Stockholm, Helsinki, St Petersburg, Tallinn, Riga, Vilnius, Warsaw, Krakow, Vienna and Verona, before crossing the finish line in Casino Square on the night of Friday May 24^th in Monte Carlo for the whole Grand Prix, Formula 1 weekend.

In six days the rally takes in an incredible thirteen countries as it winds through Europe. Let the adventure begin…

Who Are We?

We are Team Galag, reining from Saudi Arabia. Car #73 and #74

Planning began for the 2013 rally before even crossing the LA finish line in 2012. Our goal was to bring something new to the table, something that hadn’t been on the Gumball 3000. Our SLS Roadster and Aventador from last year were tough to beat, but we did it.

The Galag Tumbler

What fun would the Gumball be without a little originality? This year, our two newest team members are joining us in a custom built Tumbler. Weighing in at 2.5 tons, and being over 2ft than a Hummer H1, this is an scale replica of the Batman Tumbler. But it isn’t just a Hollywood movie prop. It’s been built from the ground up to survive the 3000 mile journey and much more.

The TG1

Every year, the Gumball 3000 plays host to some of the most expensive vehicles in the world. This year it was decided that we wanted to drive something a little more original. Enter the TG1.

Brothers and two time Gumballers are taking to the wheel of a one off bespoke supercar. Dubbed the TG1, this custom ride features a 750 horsepower twin turbo 3.8L V-6, full carbon fiber body, ceramic brakes, and more.

Why So Serious??

To build a Tumbler or not to build a Tumbler? That is the question.

You have to understand why we wanted to build the Tumbler. Obviously one reason is that we can. Secondly, it’s fun.

One of our team members is crazy about all things Dark Knight, and it’s been an idea of his to build a Tumbler for a while now. So we thought why not go one step further and do it in time for this year’s Gumball.

So we discussed the idea with Parker Brothers Concepts and it just happened that they’ve wanted to build one for a while now. When ideas line up like that, it can be very magical. Crazy, but magical.Obviously, the Tumbler has been built before. We’ve all seen the movies and the pictures. Hell, we’ve all seen footage of it doing laps on a race track. The tricky part however was to build one that would last 3000 miles and be road legal without losing it’s, well, AWESOMENESS!!

Since we couldn’t get the original blue prints, we did a little digging and found tidbits here and there on what the assembly of a Tumbler requires but the guys at Parker Brothers Concepts had to do the heavy lifting and fill up the gaps. They also had to make sure that it was road legal. Not an easy task!!

We are just as excited to show you the completed Tumbler, but you willl just have to wait for the unveiling in Copenhagen.
